I want to become a musician and songwriter

I am fairly certain that I need a 2 or 4 year degree but I don't really want to go to college.

What should I look for when looking for colleges?

What type of skills would I need to be an investigator?

I am a sophomore in high school and looking for a job that has good pay but also doesn't require long working hours.
