How do I prepare myself for another 8+ years of schooling post-high school?

I want to be an orthodontist, and I know that takes many years of additional schooling. I want to make sure I stay motivated and not fall out of love with my passion.

Pre-dentistry major options?

Hi, I am a first year student who is pursuing a pre-dental track. I will have to decide on a major in a few months, and was wondering which majors will benefit or distinguish me from a pool of applicants for dentistry? Currently, I am thinking of picking microbiology and immunology as my major. I know that many students have biology or biochemistry as their major, so I do want have a different major to make me stand out. Please let me know if this would be a good option, or not. Thanks!!

How can I become a dental hygienist in Texas?

How can I become a dental hygienist in Texas? I recently moved to the U.S. and I’m living in Houston, Texas. I’m interested in becoming a dental hygienist, but I’m not sure where to start. I’d like to know what steps I should take, such as which programs to apply to, what prerequisites are required, and if there are any licensing exams. I’d also appreciate advice about affordable schools or community colleges in Texas.

Why are so many colleges acceptance based on a standardized test?

A student may have the best grades and the best recommendations, but they do poorly on an acceptance test, they are devastated that their dream career may never happen just because of one single test.

If you want to go to dental school, do you need to have very good hand skills or can these be learned?

I’m nervous about not having extremely steady hands and having this affect my possible career. Can these skills be learned and trained? #dentist #dentalschool
