What do I do when everyone is telling me to get a "realistic career plan"? #Fall25
Hello! I'm only a freshman in highschool but I have always known that I wanted to do something in Arts, a/v technology & communications career cluster. I just now found out what I want to do in that cluster, I want to to be in the film industry. Whether it's acting on stage in front of a live audience or acting in movies/TV shows. I joined the highschool theater this year for the first time and got a major role in the Fall production. I can tell you that I have never been so proud and happy when we perform together, on a stage, in front of lots of people. The entire cast and crew put a lot of work and time into that production and it was the best feeling in the world, every single part of it. I told my parents that I would like to continue doing that as a career and get into a good college to pursue that career. All they could tell me is that it was probably not going to happen for lots of reasons sushi as: "we don't have money to afford a good college for you", "That is an unrealistic job that has high demand", and "It's probably best that you just start looking for another REALISTIC job that will be easier for you to pursue". How do I still pursue what I love doing and get money to save up for a good film college, while my parents keep telling me not to?
this isn't really a career question but is at the same time?
My parents decided to homeschool me when I got out of 6th grade bc of my mental health decreasing very bad. But I don't wanna be homeschooled and since being homeschooled its just got worse. The homeschooling program I'm using doesn't provide any extra credits threw highschool and I want to get as much possible for college I've been able to keep my gppa at a 3.8 but that's not enough for me. How old do I have to be able to enroll myself back in public school or am I able to do that at all?

Is it realistically possible to be a present and active parent while working as a full-time consultant? #Spring25
I’m a freshman and someone who’s always thinking 100 steps ahead. Two of my biggest goals in life are to be a great mom and a successful consultant. I know consulting can be demanding, so I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective or advice on whether it’s possible to balance both, and what that might look like from your experience. #Spring25
How did you come to terms with/and find yourself WANTING to be in the medical field, despite the expectations of immigrant parents?
If you're a first-gen and you have immigrant parents who wanted you to become a doctor, how did you come to terms with/and find yourself wanting to be in the medical field, rather than just going into it because your parents told you?
What's it like to be in Career Village?
I have #autism. My life was very rough with it. I was struggling in #school all these years because I mad some of my #teachers mad in the past. All I want is to #graduate and go to #college so that I can get a #job. I have my #parents to support me. I sometimes like to dabble in #arts-and-crafts. When I enter college, I would like to enroll in #STEM. I know it may be hard, but I hope that when I #graduate, I would have the talent in a few #technology jobs like computer science.
Did your parents influence you in going into your job?

How do you survive in the real world? Independence or reliance?
Jobs. Taxes. Bills. Grocery shopping. Once I move away from home, it’s all up to me now, which raises the question: is it better to learn how to handle this stuff through my own mistakes and learn from the Internet OR to constantly get personal help from my parents every time a problem comes up? #moving-out #real-world #survival #parents

Whats the best way about being a surgeon when you have a family or are planning to have one? Is it better to be a general surgeon or go into specialty?
Im really focused on becoming a vernal surgeon since it is my dream since I was little, and I am personally a family oriented person who would love to have a family of my own someday. But i realized that general surgeons work up to 12 hours daily and have to be available at ALL time when on "on call". Whats holding me back is that if I become a general surgeon i won't have time for my family and I don't want that so thats why I'm deciding whether or not I should even pursue that! Id like some advice from someone who's in this situation or who knows someone else in this situation! #doctor #parents #medicine #hospital-and-health-care
