How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?

Hello, my name is Duaa Sarayi. My journey in choosing a career path has been quite a ride, marked by exploration, discovery, and a deepening sense of purpose. Initially, I was all about cybersecurity, fascinated by technology's intricacies and the importance of safeguarding digital systems. But as high school went on, my interests evolved. I started delving into psychology, diving into research and watching the world around me. That's when it hit me the immense impact of mental health issues on people's lives, especially with societal stigma and cultural barriers, like religious beliefs, making things even harder. Seeing all this firsthand lit a fire in me to make a difference in mental health care. I wanted to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive support to those who needed it most. So, I shifted gears towards psychology and pre-med. But that wasn't the end of the road. Alongside my passion for mental health, I had this dream of becoming a physician, which meant aiming for MD or DO school. Each step forward fills me with purpose, knowing that even though my path might twist and turn, my dedication remains steadfast. Reflecting on it all, I'm grateful for every twist and turn. Each experience taught me something new, guiding me closer to my true calling and reinforcing the importance of following my heart in pursuit of a fulfilling career.
