Are students able to find a job in their field of study right after college graduation?

I've always seen posts from recent college graduates saying they don't actually find a job they like or in their field. I'm wondering if it's actually true and if I should be prepared for that.

How will I know I've picked the right major to study in college?

I'm going to be heading to college this fall and I'm worried if I'll be able to pick the right major for me. Advisers always tell us that a lot of people go to college undecided, but I'm afraid I would be wasting time and money if I go undecided.

Do you go to college for the degree or experience?

I talk to so many of my fellow graduating seniors and all they talk about is the experience of college. However, when I mention academics they tend to turn their head away. I just wonder what do most people attend college for? More of the experience of academics?
