How can I inspire corporations to invest in community initiatives that will empower youth?

So many children are missing out on the growth opportunities and empowering experiences provided by team sports programs. The reason? Sports programs are expensive to organize. When parents and guardians are working just to pay bills and put food on the table, they cannot afford to pay for their children to participate in extracurricular activities, let alone find the time to transport children to and from practice with relative ease. My mission is to bring back genuine community and corporate engagement in youth sports. Not just as a sponsoring advertiser, but as an investment into the future. Mentorship through sports has saved my life. I want to give the gift of giving back, and I want those who have means to give to share in that gift as well. #help #children #grow #strong #community-outreach #corporate-social-responsibility

How do I get information on different programs and clubs outside of school?

Recently, I have learned about different programs that are offered to students in my community, that I have never heard of before, until now. With this realization, I'd like to know how to be able to get informed if there are other programs or clubs that I'd be able to participate in. Not only that, but I'd like to know who I should be asking and talking to in order to get accepted into a good university. #communications #community #community-outreach #programs #clubs #student-activities #nonprofits

How do I create my own internship opportunity?

This summer I want to pursue an internship in government or nonprofits. In my local area there aren't a lot of opportunities for me, a first year college student. What would be the best way to approach some of the places and people I am interested in working with to create my own internship experience? Would I draft my own idea of what I would be doing first, or would that step come after reaching out to the different offices and organizations that I am interested in working with? #internships #government #nonprofits #experience #social-work #civic-and-social-organization #community-outreach

I would like to work for a non-profit organization. What degree would I need?

I am interested in working with organizations that focus on Rape and Child molestation awareness, out reach, and patient services. I would like to work in the field like going to schools, setting up fund raising events with the public and over all getting the organizations message out there. I am currently still in the process of getting all my AA degree classes out of the way. What degree should I major in so I will be qualified for this type of position? And what colleges would you recommend? what classes should I include while at a community college. I live in Montclair, Ca. I would like to stay close to home.
