How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?
It took me longer than most to figure it out :) I am happy about my journey! I always knew that I wanted to work in education, so I went to a 4-year university after high school to pursue teaching. However, I realized I did not want to teach, and I stopped going to school. When I went back to school, I went to a community college. At the community college, I took a career exploration class that allowed me to figure out the job in education I really wanted was to be a college counselor! I have been working towards that goal ever since. I suggest to anyone not sure of what major to pursue to take a career exploration class.
What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?
It is okay to go to community college!
