How to pull facts from a lecture to have notes to study?

I am an incoming flight school student looking into prospective employers/cadet pathways. I already have a flight school chosen, but I am interested in CFI cadet pathways and in learning about the legacy airlines and the regionals that lead up to them, such as Envoy and Piedmont.

After college, I'd like to pursue robotics to create new ways to reduce humans' negative impact on the environment. I'm interested in both mechanical and electrical engineering, but I don't know which one would be best for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
