I am currently a senior in highschool who is interested in being a therapist. While the field is intended to help other people, I wonder how it can improve your own personal mental health.

Teachers keep on assigning work and I feel like Im slowly falling more behind. I have a few diagnosed mental health issues and Im fighting for my life in normal classes.

I am not doing well school wise because of my mental health

I want to be a therapist, but is the pay good enough? Is it a fulfilling profession? I wanted to be a psychiatrist, but I didn't want to go through med school. Is it that hard to get a doctoral degree? Also, how do I know what type of therapist I want to be, if at all?
