I am currently a high school senior and will be attending college in the Fall majoring in film. I am looking to expand my film making and story telling skills. Any advice on how to best prepare for this journey would be great.

Is it a mix of all equally? All of the above but one more than the others? I know all of them are important in the film industry, but I was just wondering what I should focus on the most throughout art school. I have a pretty strong artistic style and direction(s), so maybe I should work more...

Is it recommended to become an artist first and then move your way up? If so or if not, why? What career path is the most viable for being successful in film in general?

I'm entering college for animation, and I'm beginning to wonder if indie/independent animation is a feasible alternative to major studio work given its rise in popularity.

I am also open to other options like audio production or anything that relates to film making. I just want to find a school that's affordable, has great programs, and to easily find a job after college.

I am from a middle class family in a considerably wealthy area. This makes it difficult for me to qualify for any grants and most scholarship opportunities. Any advice on how to find scholarship sites or programs that are actually worth it is much appreciated!
