I will soon be entering film school for producing, and I'm very excited. However, the film/tv industry is both gig-based and known for paying little during the beginning of a career. With the financial and time commitment of film school, I would like to know what I might expect for the beginning of my career. So, how did you make ends meet and financially support yourself while you got started in the industry?

I Have some experience in film making and my goal is to become a film producer. I have done internships making a few short films, I also have experience in editing and script writing. What are some other things I can do to build my experience that directors actually look for.

I am a 13 year old girl I’ve wanted to be an actress for a while now I don’t have very much experience acting besides my schools 5th grade musical. I want to be an actress once I finish school and I want to know what I should do now to have a more successful career later in life.

How to decide between a major in film or finance?
I'm torn because my film teacher said that you don't need a degree to work in film, but isn't that the same with accounting? My true career goal is to become a film director, but I can't practice anything without equipment -equipment is expensive and from what I know accounting pays pretty well if you know what you're doing. I'm interested in both, but don't know what I should major in - and what I should minor in.
What is the best way to get in front of casting directors?
I have dance and theatre experience and am a performing artist. I took some time off and it is still my dream and passion to work in entertainment. I am 33 years old! College doesn't feel like the right fit at my age. I don't have transportation or much means to speak of. I was working as a data analyst in the technology industry and was laid off. It sounds ridiculous, but it was a real wake up call. I idolize artists that have made impacts in fashion, music, film, tv, and on the stage. But I am absolutely clueless on what to do.
