What are some interesting subjects to study when you go to collage

To be more exact I am talking about being able to test and develop computer hardware. I assume if you simply learned enough about parts of technology, you could just start a repair business or create a YouTube channel.

I just basically want to know because I have never been to work so I don’t know what the hardest part is.

I want to go to school for social work, but I haven't done much time looking for a college to go to. I have pretty decent grades.
