What can you do with the college minor Can you use your college minor to get a licensed profession? ?
What is the purpose of a college minor? What can you do with the college minor? Can you use your college minor to get a licensed profession? I'm an incoming college freshmen, I currently major in Pre-Nursing, but I don't know if I want to pursue it yet. Back in high school, I wanted to major in accounting, but I want to make sure I actually like accounting before I actually commit to accounting. So, I was thinking of minoring in accounting. I also doesn't want to spend extra years in university, so I want to make sure I change to the major I wanted to pursue in as soon as possible. Please help me out!
What should I do...?
Hey everyone, I’m 17 and trying to plan out my next 4-5 years, but I’m feeling a bit confused and overwhelmed by my options. I come from a traditional background as an only child, and I really want to make my parents proud while building a career that is long-lasting and high-earning. The plan I have made is to major in Software Engineering (ideally targeting the aviation sector), and I want to minor in Religious Studies to honor my mom’s wishes. On top of that, I have a deep interest in law and politics, which I feel could really strengthen my long-term stability and career leverage. However, I also have a massive love for creative fields like fashion design (which is a great practical backup skill to sew for a living if needed) and filmmaking. I’m naturally great at multitasking, so my idea is to focus heavily on my main degree during the semesters, and then use my summer and winter breaks to take short courses or self-study law, politics, fashion, and filmmaking rather than trying to get full degrees in them.Does this sound realistic, or am I trying to take on too much? I'd love to hear from anyone who has successfully balanced multiple heavy academic interests and creative passions during university! Options and opinions all are welcomed I really want to hear your thoughts and changes that could be made to save my future
at 18 what can i do if idk if college is for me/don't know what career I want?
I think that college isnt really for everyone and my mom has been constantly talking about my older cousins who graduated as plastic surgeons. I dont really have a passion for medical/health careers . My strongest subject in highschool was journalism , where I use Canva to creating fake magazines and ads for companies like Pepsi or NYX. tbh, rn I'm learning how to do basic CSS/HTML, video editing, making Roblox assets. and I spent most of my highschool years on social media. But when picking a major or even a career, I hesitate because I just don't know what I want rn. Idk if I should stay in community college for another year (I'm freshman) or transfer straight to a far away college to avoid my parents. idk, I just don't feel like I'm having any options: transfer or drop out. also here are some side hustles I tried when I graduated but they sorta failed. e-commerce was hard bc every week a new product would rise and fall + ads were expensive, day trading was calm bc it depended on me and no one else but I had a 45% wr. I tried to learn about freelance brand scaleing bc it seemed similar to making stuff with Canva but quit cus I was confused. then I started doing freelance graphic design. I was super cautious bc of scams and one time I refused an actual client who offered $200. I tried doing clipping for streamers which paid a little but I enjoyed it. I tried getting into memecoins but they're very volatile and I couldnt tell which coins were trustworthy. I sometimes get very unique dreams and I kinda wanna turn it into a video game? also, another thing that might help me know what to do... apps on my phone. I have Roblox.sims, depop, Netflix, Instagram/TikTok, YouTube, capcut, Canva, discord, Pinterest my love, Uber. bank apps. ig that's it. if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it! <3
What pros and cons are their to being a therapist?
I am a 7th grader at Crane Middle School and I really want to be a therapist. I have always wanted to help people with their mental health. I want to make positive impacts on peoples lives. But emotional burnout and the irregular income I don’t like. I would not want to be emotionally burnt out. I also don’t like the fact that you don’t always have the same income. And I think for all of that school and you need a license to have one on one therapy sessions I honestly don’t think it might be worth it.
what type of career or type of work do you see me doing
Hi! I'm a freshmen student in college . I am trying to understand what kind of work would suit me in the future. My strongest subject in highschool was journalism , where I enjoy creating fake magazines and ads for companies like Pepsi or NYX. I'm sort of outgoing or communicative, but I don't enjoy jobs that require you to sit for a long time. In Chemistry and Algebra I notice that I enjoy take notes about anything, and I notice I can learn a bit faster than normal, even if I don't like the subject. Considering these strengths and preferences, is it normal for someone like me to work in hospital-based or analytical jobs? What kind ofcareer should I consider ? Thank you
Hi! I'm confused between two major fields. How do i choose what to pursue?
Hi ! I am nearing the end of my degree in computer science in college and im quite confused on what path to take. I don't enjoy development but these days cybersecurity interests me however it is very technical and I'd need further specialization before i get a job in it. On the other hand, i took a ui-ux elective and i find it rather appealing. Now im confused. which path to take? what would suit me more and where would i fit in with my skillset? how do i decide that? I love solving puzzles and the mystery and allure that comes with cybersecurity yet at the same time, the humanization and creativity outlet in ui-ux is also very very appealing.
Can I teach High School with an elementary education degree ?
I am a sophomore in high school who would like to be a teacher. I know I would like to teach either high school or elementary school. I am looking at a 2 and 2-year program at Emporia State University that offers a degree in elementary education. Still, if I ever wanted to teach high school, my degree wouldn't allow it. I really don't want to do more school than what I need to do, so I was wondering if there was any way I could still have the option for both. Please help!!
What are some top colleges I should consider applying to as someone interested in journalism, communications, and media?
I am currently a junior in high school, and am at the point where I am making a college list to prepare for applications. I am open to studying in the U.S. as well as internationally, such as in the U.K. I would really appreciate some pointers or specific schools I should look into to receive a strong college experience within journalism.
