How much emphasis do Canadian universities put on extracurriculars?

I’m a 9th grade student studying in Canada. I’ve been trying to build up a strong university application in hopes that a head start can relieve my 12th grade self of some added stress. Some resources online have said that extracurricular activities can make or break an application, but most of these resources have been referring to American schools. Do the higher acceptance rates in Canada mean that good grades and test scores can be enough to get me into most schools? Or are extracurriculars something I should prioritize alongside those two things? #university #college-admissions #extracurricular

How important are extra-curriculars when exiting college?

As a non-traditional student, I have been working full-time while obtaining my degree. While this is not an extra-curricular that some workplaces or internships look for, I think there is value in sticking to obtaining a degree while also have responsibilities where my time is already split between school work and professional work. #college #college #internship #extracurricular #accomplishments #work #full-time-student #full-time-professional #career

If I am able, would it be beneficial to me if I started a new club at my school?

I've considered starting a new club at my school, but I don't know if it'll be worth it. I have a very busy schedule and most of the students at my school don't join clubs or take them seriously. I don't want to waste my time if it's not going to be worthwhile. #club #extracurricular #highschool #collegeapplication

What opportunities are available in most high schools that will prepare me for college?

Hello, I am looking to find more opportunities in high schools to be more prepared for college. I have taken AP courses and will be taken some CE next year. Although, I just learned it is possible to graduate high school with an associate's degree. I have also learned about the AVID and GEAR UP program which helps prepare you in college and was wondering if there are more things I should be doing #startups #high-school #college #career-ready #entrepreneurship #extracurricular-activities #extracurricular #college-counselor

What should I do afterschool in high school if I want to be a computer engineer after college?

I just started high school and I am trying to pick my afterschool activities. I think I want to be a computer engineer after I finish college so I would like to know what you did when you were in high school afterschool, if you are a computer engineer now. Did you do clubs like computer club or did you just do projects on your own? I really like reading about computers and taking them apart to see if I can figure out how they work, and I joined the computer club at school. The computer club is not really all that much fun right now though, so I think maybe I want to try something else. My school gives me a lot of homework which means that I only have an hour after school for fun. #engineering #extracurricular
