I wondering if I should take a leap year before college to work on money and mental health but Im scared of losing the momentum with school. Any recommendations?

I've seen people from other schools end up at top schools, but I feel that my extracurriculars don't really suit the field. I have a few leadership experiences and some are more marketing or public relations.

I'm interested in shadowing or interning, but I feel that cold emailing isn't effective and most law firms or places don't really want to take in high schoolers?
