How long does it take to become a homicide detective?

I am a freshman in high school and I am interested in becoming a homicide detective. Could you please advise me on the amount of time it typically takes to become one, as well as what studies would be most beneficial for me to pursue?

I’ve always loved animals and I am interested to know which colleges are best for animal lovers- marine biology, zoology, animal behavior, animal science, etc.

like anything from some basic or something you do daily or to something that happens rarely that you need to know in case it happens

Im interested in animal and engineering. I don't know if I should go into biomedical engineering or zoology. Dream job is creating zoo animal habitats.
