UX/UI Designer V.S Web Developer
To all professionals reading this post, thank you for your precious time! I just started my journey in coding (HTML/CSS/Javascript) three months ago, I love it and I experience the so-called 'flow' state when I'm coding. (definitely a great sign!) I was wondering if you could share some career advice or your experiences in the tech industry? Why did you choose to become a web developer rather than a UX designer or UI designer? (or vice versa) Thank you so much! #computer-science #computer #technology #UX #UI #WebDev #Webdeveloper #HTML #CSS #JS #Designer #Career #Coaching #mentorship #Women-in-tech #computer-science #information-technology

What is the Future of AI looking like to you in business?
Where do you see the future of AI/Machine learning development progressing? There is a lot of talk at conventions focused around AI about the ethics behind it. I think some people are too heavily influenced by movies(Skynet for example) to be able to see the future of AI. How will it affect your specific industries, and how are you implementing it at your company right now? #technology #AI #MachineLearning #FutureDevelopment #AIDevelopment #business #computer
When do most comp sci internships start?
I’m going to be a junior in computer science this coming fall, and I would like to begin searching for internships for the experience. I am going to have to take a summer class during the month of May. Are there internships that allow you to start in the middle of the summer, or are there any other times of the year that would be great to land an internship for me? #internship #computer #computer-science #stem #womeninstem #software #softwaredeveloper #softwareengineer #computer-software #engineer #technology
How to prepare for an internship?
I’m in progress of a computer science bachelor degree. However, I’ve only had two coding classes: an introductory class using Visual Basic, and C++. I do not feel that I have learned much and would like to be more qualified for future internships. How may I further increase my knowledge outside of school? #computer #computer-science #stem #software #softwareengineer #softwaredeveloper #technology #womeninstem #internship #science #computer #computer-software
Can I as a Computer Engineering major branch off to do something related to Green Energy after my undergraduate studies?
Once I started Computer Engineering, it was all fun at the start but I realized I would want to be engaged in projects developing safer and more environmentally friendly energy solutions but I chose to not switch majors right away since this might launch me into another field eventually. #green-energy #engineering #solar #computer #electrical-engineering
Should I take the Singapore Government Grant for undergraduate studies?
I am a high school student from Bangladesh. I have recently been accepted to Yale-NUS College for the class of 2023. I have an option to take the Government grant that will allow me to pay subsidised fees but I will have to take up a bond to work for 3 years in a Singapore-registered company after my studies. I am interested in pursuing a career in Artificial Intelligence research and I intend to pursue a phd. I have 3 options now: 1) I can take the grant but it will mean that I will have to work for 3 years before pursuing my next studies; 2) I can take student loans instead of the grant and pay them back after getting a job; or 3) I can study in a public university in Bangladesh on a very low cost and then pursue my higher studies abroad. If you recommend to take the grant, can you suggest some companies that I can work with to fulfill my bond with a Bachelor of Science degree and also gain experience that will help me in pursing a career in AI research. Thank you in advance. #college #singapore #ai #artificialintelligence #technology #undergraduate #computer #bachelors #science

How will I know if I will be able to handle the rigors of the Computer Science program I am starting soon?
I already have a BS degree in English Literature, and I worked in the field as a technical editor and writer for about 15 years. During that time, I taught myself some HTML4 and a little CSS and LOVED IT. I now have the opportunity to go back to school to get a second BS degree and Computer Science is my goal. However, it's been 13 years since I've taken a college course. All I know for sure I that I want to become a developer; that is my end game. #computer #computer-science #computer-programming #science #computer-software
