About

I am a Strategic Program Manager at CoreLogic focusing on target operating model design and execution as well as commercial real estate product roadmap prioritization and execution.

Previously, I worked as a Senior Consultant in the Digital Strategy & Interactive practice of IBM Global Business Services. My project experience included UAT Testing at a high-growth fintech regulatory startup, revenue growth strategy at an international payments processor, Salesforce process improvement at a top private national insurance provider, and PMO staff augmentation at a global investment bank.

Prior to IBM, I received a BBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. My internship experience includes a stint at Insight Venture Partners evaluating early stage and growth stage startups for strategic investment as well as a research role at Sperry Van Ness tracking buyers of triple net lease properties in the Midwest and South regions.

Syed’s Career Stories

What is the biggest challenge you had to overcome to get to where you are now professionally? How did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge I had to deal with was financial uncertainty during my college years due to delayed effects from the Great Recession. Compared to my high school years, my family was making a little more than half of their previous income. I was always uncertain about how to pay tuition and living expenses my first two years of college. This impacted my wellbeing and limited my career options to a degree. However, I worked hard to get a high GPA, which earned me sizeable departmental scholarship packages. I also got a job as a Resident Advisor during the junior and senior year of college, which offset the living costs. I also saved up money from internships. Eventually I got about 75% of my total cost of attendance over 4 years paid for and entered my career of choice as a consultant. A little craftiness goes a long way!
