Is majoring in music and going in a music career worth it?

For wanting to be in a orchestra or play classical music professionally, what would be needed to have those oppritunities? What are the things that come along with playing professionally? How would income work and how much would it look like? I'd like to travel and play with people, and maybe even teach like private lessons.

How did you make a career path in the music industry?

I started producing my own music when I was about 12 or 13 and since then I've learned a lot and wanted to potentially turn it into a full blown career, so I was wondering how people in the industry got to where they were and made good amounts of money.

I am an african american and I know that it would be hard for me to become a K-pop idol since it is mostly asian represented. But it really is my dream to become an idol. I practice dancing and singing everyday. I have also started to study and learn the language. I plan on working hard no matter what it takes. I would like to know what companies would accept african american idols.

Should I do a Music/Psych double major?

Hi! I'm currently in grade 12 and have been wondering a grave amount of what to do. I have been always interested in both psychology and music, and was wondering if a double major in both would be worth it? I'm not exactly sure what career I would want to do or if I even want to pursue one of them for a job. Is it too high of a risk? I really just want to explore and take the chances while I can.

I want to get a bfa - how hard is it to get into a program?

I’m 14 and want to pursue acting as a career, particularly Shakespeare. My plan right now is to do 5-7 plays a year during high school, do the ESU Shakes comp, create Shakes clubs where I can start getting directing experience, continue with my outside of school acting coach, singing as well, and I’ll probably start doing musical theater dance. I’m not trying to brag or anything, just want to give whoever answers this question a better understanding, but I’ve been told I’m very talented by most people who see me perform. How hard would it be to get into a bfa program if I audition for like 15 of them? I know I shouldn’t be worrying about it right now but I panic about this daily 😅

Where to I begin to explore careers that make use of a number of these skills and interests rather than feeling pigeonholed into one particular role?
