Most of the scholarships I find don’t apply to me or are just fluff and I won’t ever win them even though I still apply. It seems like a waste of time.

I decided to be a journalist after coming to the conclusion that I'm awful at math. Then, I did some research and realized the work that these Journalists put in and I value the way they still stand tall when times are tough.

I would like to know what kind of jobs/opportunities this would open up for me?

I've been asked this a lot recently in scholarship applications, and I never know how to respond in a way that sounds professional. Starting with "my name is..." feels redundant when your application already has it listed. I just have no idea how to start.
