I am a senior in high school. I am interested in running my own lab one day, but I am uncertain about the payout/stability of this career route? #fall25

I am HS senior and planning on go into marine biology. I've done extensive studies by now in varies oceanography camps and on my own.
I am worried about looking for jobs in marine biology field. It seems very competitive since it's not a lot of options. Any advise?
