Should I pursue a major in civil engineering and a minor in business?
Im currently a junior going into senior year of high school this fall. Before, I was interested in majoring in architecture but now has changed to majoring in civil engineering and possibly minoring in business. I do understand that it will be rigorous wanting to do both courses and will need to be accepted by the college advisors. But, I was just seeking for more information from anyone who has done something like this. The schools Im planning on applying to are UC Berkeley, UCSD, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Davis, Cal Poly Slo & Pomona, and USC. Any advice/insight is appreciated, Thank you!
As a future civil engineering student, what things should i prioritize or focus on the most in college (Grades, Internships, hands on projects) in order to be successful in the future after graduating? Which would have the longest term impact on careers and what did you wish you focused on more in school?
I am a high school senior and I want to study and go into civil engineering, I know there are a lot of specialties in the field so I'm excited to learn more about them. I've shadowed a civil engineer which helped me understand the job more and made me more curious about the projects they work on.

I’ve always heard that when you are trying to land your dream job, you need to make sure you are constantly in contact with your professors or other people so that they’d actually refer you; but like, how do you do that? What conversations should you talk about, how would you approach them, how do you keep in contact with these people, etc? Or, when you are in a coffee chat with said person(s), what do you talk about that would actually be beneficial? (I'm a graduating high school senior going to college for civil engineering.)
Is the ACE Mentorship Program good for Architecture? Are there any programs similar in Florida that are less of a time commitment?
Hello! My name is Sanvhi and I am a rising junior in high school the is interested in pursuing architecture in college. I have done online courses on platforms such as edX, but was hoping to have more real-life practice and experience in making plans, constructing models, etc. My only issue in participating in the ACE program in Central Florida is the time commitment, as I have practice afterschool most days. Has any student or mentor know what the schedule normally looks like, and if it possible to hold meetings on weekends? Also how good it is for architecture? Thank you!

I currently have hands-on experience working as a construction materials testing technician and inspector on roadway, utility, and airfield projects, including work at Rickenbacker International Airport. My responsibilities included materials testing (soils, CTB, concrete), QA/QC inspection, and ensuring compliance with ASTM, ACI, FAA, and DOT standards. I am currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering Technology and am interested in transitioning into a civil engineering or project management role in the infrastructure industry. I am looking for guidance on what additional skills, certifications, or experiences I should focus on to make that transition successfully.
