I am a rising senior in high school planning on majoring in neuroscience and later entering medical school.

I’m an upcoming college freshman going to getting a bachelors of science in nursing, but I want to go to medical school and become a surgeon.

Honestly ever since I was younger i've always been interested in being a medical assistant or a pediatrician or at least working in the medical field.

I really enjoy working with kids at my local daycare center and that’s how I came to the idea I wanted to take care of kids, and become a doctor. More specifically a pediatrician. And I just want to know what I need to major in after high school to achieve my goal.

How should I start my medical career? What can I do in high school to prepare me to be a doctor, nurse, or just about anyone in the medical field? Any advice is appreciated.

Spending so long in college is the one thing that makes me question if I want to be a doctor, more specifically a dermalogist because what would I be learning that would take 12 years to master? Also, others the same age with me would already have jobs.
