Ask a letter of reference from your old boss - 3 years no contact?
I'm going back to school after a few years of work. The school requests 2 letters of references but I haven't contacted my old employers for 3 years (I left during covid, and have been working remotely since for another company). Should I reach out to them on Linkedin and ask over there? Or should I ask them out for a coffee? I feel leaning towards option 1 as it might be more time-efficient for both? But would that request be viewed as more "cold" ? What do you think?

What to do as an aspiring engineer with no experience or knowledge????
Hello. I am a 17-year-old in Laredo, and I hope to major in a branch of engineering in the future. Despite not having experience, would it be best to seek out internships to gain experience? If so, what are my options in Laredo or online? I've tried looking but I'm struggling with it as most jobs are looking for college undergraduates/graduates. My dad is a mechanic, so would it be a good start to work with him? If so, how should I prepare? My dad is a busy man and is less interested in taking the time to show me the ropes. What online resources would be a good start to understanding what it's like to work as a mechanic/auto diagnostics so that I can be less of a hindrance and more of a valuable asset? Thank you!
