I am interested in computer science, and the best computer science programs are at large research institutions; YET the most appealing campuses for me have had smaller student bodies. Where can I find a combination of these attributes, giving me the best of both worlds? #Spring26

As a 12th grader, am I destined to work as a coffee shop barista if I major in Computer Science ?
Baristas are great, but I don’t want to go to school for 4+ years to be one. Is the job market for CS fields really that bad? I've seen so many horror stories of individuals who seem qualified but can't find a job, and if they do, the work-life balance isn't favorable. This worries me because I'm really interested/passionate, but I'm not sure whether I should invest in a more "practical" field.
What can I do in high school to prepare for a career in computer science?
I am a high school student and I want to go into a career in programming or data science and I am wondering if there is something I can do while I'm still in high school to prepare. Linguistic majors with bachelor's degrees, what struggles did you face once you tried to enter the workforce?
I'm considering pursuing a Linguistics major for my BA. I've read that it's quite hard to get a job unless you also have Computer Science minor/double major paired with Linguistics, which isn't quite my plan, though I'm considering pairing Linguistics with CS if it becomes clear that pursuing Linguistics alone is worthless. So, for those who have majored in Linguistics, what are some future struggles to be aware of? Is Linguistics worth pursuing if I don't get involved with Computer Science? #college #bachelors #Computer Science #CSMajor #LingusticsMajor #BA #CS #Linguistics #struggles #work #future #job #major #in #linguistics
