I'm an incoming college freshman, and i'm wondering if anyone has tips and tricks for getting into the game design industry. Would it be best to develop a portfolio of character sheets, or focus more on developing game demos and modding?

Are internships, volunteering, or classes a good representation of what an actual job in the medical field would be like? Or is there a better source?

Do we really need college to become successful. I’m genuinely interested because why give all this money to not become successful. Then a person who does not go becomes successful and not in debut.
