How do you know you've picked the right major?

What's a good major to pursue if you have an AA degree in Health Sciences General Studies and you enjoy subjects involving English/Writing?

By 18, if I work hard enough, I should have an AA degree in Health Sciences General Studies, though now I'm wondering if I still want to pursue a career focused entirely on health. I've always struggled with math, which as I've found is quite involved in this field, making me reconsider my decision to pursue a health-focused career. Now, I'm focusing on my interests in writing, English, debating, and things of that nature. I'm now wondering if there is a major that could lead to a career involving both my health skills and my current interests. #general #health #professionals #english #writing #creativewriting #linguistics #journalism #debating #communications #opentoideas #career #healthcareer #liberalarts #professors

What if my college experience isn't all it's cracked up to be?

I've been told that college is where you learn about new things and make new friends and spread your wings and all that jazz, but what if that is not really the case? I have a hard time keeping and making friends, and with all of these new people and new freedom, how am I supposed to focus on befriending and having a good time? I have really awful anxiety and I'm so scared I will annoy people or be overly friendly and maybe ruin everything for myself. Are there a lot of counselors and things I can talk to in college and maybe some clubs or something around so maybe I can find people with common interests? I don't want to ruin my experience or someone else's experience from being strange, and I can only hope that it works out okay. I don't want to be a loner in college, especially with all of these people around. That would suck. #general

School Supplies

So I will be starting college this next semester however I will be taking all my classes online this year, so I want to make sure I’m taking really good notes to pass my finals. What kind of notebooks would you recommend for classes like English 101-102, Biology 223, etc. (Don’t remember all of the classes I’m taking this semester, I’m taking bio next semester actually but I’m just curious). I know the syllabus should tell me but since I’m doing my classes online I’m not so sure. #general #notetaking #schoolsupplies #english #biology #incomingcollegestudent

Why should I consider going into a specific field of study instead of a general one, or vise-versa?

I have been considering majoring in biology for a while but also the idea or marine biology or zoology intrigues me. Are you more likely to get IP"stuck" in a career in a specific field or to not have the specific experience required for interesting jobs if you go for a more general degree? #biology #general #marine-biology #zoology

Is it more worth it to be happy for four years at a college you really enjoy but doesn't have the major you want, or settle for four years at a college that has the major you want and be happy for the rest of your life?

I'm struggling a whole lot with choosing a college! I'm in love with Clemson University, but it doesn't have marine biology. The University of South Carolina has marine biology, but I'm not in love with the school. #college #general #marine-biology #life-coach

Looking for Advice to Get a Job in Industrial Engineering

Hello everyone! So I have recently discovered the Industrial Engineering and I am very interested in becoming one. I absolutely love improving processes and making things run more efficiently, I'm good at math, good with people. I would love to find a job as an industrial Engineer but unfortunately the school I'm currently at (University of North Texas) does not offer that major. They do have B.S. programs: Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical and Energy Engineering, B.S.E.T programs: Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, B.A. program: Information Technology I would like to avoid transferring if possible for multiple reasons but I know I want to be an industrial Engineer. Any advice on what major I would be most likely to get a job with? Any advice at all would be appreciated because I'm very unsure of what I should do. Thank you in advance! #engineering #general #industrial
