What should you include in your resume if you're a student with little experience/ skills?

Looking to develop a resume that is effective and stands out, but I'm a high school student without much experience or skills. Are there any things you can include that someone reviewing your resume would find useful to know? Does the fact that I volunteer as a teacher assistant or that I'm oldest to 5 children make any difference? Does having experience outside of your preferred career field do anything to you?

I do not have a lot of experience (job or otherwise) in the field that I am currently pursuing, however I do have experience in areas such as working in a museum, teaching and working in the arts (glass blowing, painting, sewing..). Is there anyway to incorporate those skills in the environmental field? Can I place these as skills I have on my resume? Thank you! #environmental-science #experience #resume-writing #museums #art

Is there a cut-off for relevant information on resumes on Linked In, or should you include everything?

**For everyone who doesn’t have a LinkedIn and is reading this, I’d advise you to make one right now! It helps a lot, and even just making one and adding new things to it helps so much! LinkedIn is getting increasingly more popular with both employers and job-seekers. My university highly suggests making a LinkedIn, and offers tons of workshops and presentations to urge students to get… linked in (pun most definitely intended). On Linked In, there are options for including accomplishments, projects, volunteer experience, and more. Is it better to include everything you’ve done on Linked In, or just the more important or more interesting parts? I understand it's better for your profile to reflect a balanced profile, but this gets fuzzy at times. For example, I’m currently a freshman in college. Do you think I should still include volunteering experience from when I was in 9th grade? What kind of a filter should you use for discerning what to put on Linked In or any CV/resume? What if you don't have many things to write about--should you just only include necessary information or add small things to your profile as well? #career #resume #writing #resume-writing #linkedin #professional-development #professional-training #job-application

How should I prepare myself for a first job? How do I organize my resume, if I'm a minor, preparing to apply for my first job?

As of a month ago, I officially turned 16, which has given me a broader base of jobs to go after and apply for. I'd like to start applying for jobs, and hopefully, work a steady job before I turn 17, so I can develop my resume history and work-place skills. But all the jobs near me require experience, references, and certain skills that only trained professionals and/or graduate students have. What should I do, in order to prepare myself for my first job? How do I organize my resume, being where I am now - an inexperienced minor? #job-search #resume-writing #recruitment #teenagers #beginner #job-application #personal-development

Do resumes need to be one page?

Hi, I'm attempting to become an "officer" in a club at my college and they want to see a resume. My boyfriend is a part of this club and he told me that my resume needs to be one page, that jobs only want to see one page anyways. Is this true?
