Hi, I am in a CTE high school, and I am currently a freshman. I am in the Robotics program in my school, but I have a strong interest in Medicine, and going into the medical field. Although I am not in the medical program in my school (too much people), do I still have a chance of potentially going into the medical field?

My grades are good, I am taking advanced classes as a freshman that normally a sophomore or junior would take, (Algebra 2 and Chemistry). I enjoy both and am doing pretty good in them.

How did you go about getting into EMT and can you progress further in the medical field from there?

I am planning on going for EMT, but I am worried about hitting a wall. I want to go for my Masters degree and aim to be a Health Specialties Teacher. Should I just stick to college and get my Masters or would EMT be a good foot in the door?

I have to take fine arts at my school, but which should I choose if I want to be a doctor? Does it matter at all?

My school has a fine arts requirement to graduate. I would like to become a doctor and am not very interested in art. What genre of classes are best for my situation? My school offers choir, band, orchestra, theatre arts, visual arts, dance, technical theatre, and art history at various levels and subgenres. Does it even matter that much and should I choose any of them? This is high school, by the way!

How do I know if pursuing medical school is right for me?

I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’m beginning dual enrollment classes. I’m trying to figure out what I’d like to do in the future so I can gear my electives towards that. I have an interest in medicine, specifically surgery, and I think I could be good in it, but I’m just not sure if I’m ready for the commitment.

Is kinesiology or child development better for a high school student looking into medicine?

I'm selecting my 9th grade classes. I have no idea if other schools do this, but we have to create a "career plan" and select classes for all four years of high school. Between the classes of kinesiology (my high school's course catalog defines it as studying the effects of exercise on the body and studying skeletal, muscular, and neural movements) and child development (working with and talking to young children, earning CPR and first aid qualifications along the way), which is better if I would like to become a premed student in college? I specifically am interested in orthopedics or becoming a surgeon.

I am in the 10th grade, I'm majoring in the medical professions field in high school.

I am in the 10th grade, I'm majoring in the medical professions field in highschool, I'm at a 2.6 GPA, taking 3 AP classes and 1 honor class. What is some advice you could give me to improve my GPA? In the future, I strive to be a neurosurgeon but I'm afraid my grades are going to prevent me from becoming a neurosurgeon and entering a good college, I also want to join the Navy while studying my major, so any suggestions to set my life up for success (such as what classes and majors should I study) and to improve my grades?

Are doctors really earning less?

It's been a good while since I asked my last question. I am now almost done with my A levels and will hopefully be in medical school for my MBBS degree next year. While I am not pursuing medicine for the pay, but rather because it is a true passion of mine and something I would be delighted to do for the rest of my life, I've always considered the high wage as somewhat of compensation for all the sacrifices doctors make. Weekends and youth spent studying instead of partying, and adulthood spent in incredibly stressful situations, literally holding the life of others in our palms, the extra cash seemed deserved. But recently I am hearing of doctors in the West being overworked and underpaid, and the NHS crumbling as patient management is outsourced to clerks with insufficient medical training. If there is anyone who works as a professional doctor or surgeon in a hospital, please do feel free to share your experience in your workplace- whether to confirm or dispel the rumour. It would be of major help to a med student just starting out. Of course, I feel obliged to say that even if I would be getting paid lower, I won't change my mind. I feel that servicing others through medicine is the best thing I can do with my life, and I would be glad to. Thank you!

What career/college do I choose?

I am a 10th grader, I want my future career to be in the medical field, but I don't know what I want to land on. I know I have a lot of time to figure it out, but I want to start early. I was looking at a physician assistant, the job description/what they do really intrigues me and I'm almost certain that's what I'm gonna look at more in-depth. I just wanted an opinion on what I should/could do. I have been looking at colleges, but I also don't know which one would be best.
