Healthcare workers who genuinely love their jobs: what made you choose your career, and what keeps you from burning out? If you were talking to a high school student interested in healthcare, what advice would you give?

I'm in high school, so I still have options. I really don't want to go the wrong way with my career. Any advice?

How can I become a CNA ( without any expensive funds) as a 17 year old who's school doesn't offer CNA classes, & with limited resources ? My local community college offers it but it cost almost 2000$, any opportunities!?

I want to become a CNA / take classes and have a license, to build up for my devotion for healthcare / nursing in the future. I truly believe this experience will give me the expertise and help me to where I want to be! I appreciate any help and advice.

How hard was it to become an Anesthesiologist?

I am 15, and planning on graduating high school a year early. I am in 10th grade right now, and planning on doing summer school and another semester in order to graduate a year early. My goal in life is to become an anesthesiologist, and I have some questions for people who have reached that goal. What helped you get to that point? How long did it take? What was your major, and minor/s? What tips do you have for me to help me get to that point. What was your weighted GPA for high school? Is it more difficult than you thought it would be, or is it easier than you thought, and if you could, would you pick a different career choice? That's it! Thanks:)

What is something about working in medicine that surprised you once you actually started your career?

I’m a high school student planning to go into pre-med, and I’ve been learning a lot about medicine from classes and research. But I know that what you learn in school isn’t always the same as real-life experience. I asked this question because I want to understand what the job is actually like from people who are already in the field. Their answers will help me get a more realistic idea of what to expect.

What helped you stay on track through college and medical school if you didn’t have strong financial or family support early on?

I’m a high school student planning to go into pre-med, and I’ve mostly been figuring out the whole college process on my own. Money is a big concern for me, so I know I’ll have to rely a lot on scholarships and my own effort to get through school. I asked this question because I want to hear from people who’ve been in a similar situation and still made it. Their advice would really help me understand what to expect and how to stay on track.

What are the major highschool subjects that contribute to medical school admission and possibly syllabus?

I'm and have always been passionate about biology but in Norway, they require physics which was rather weird at first. I've researched on many different university requirements and some need biology and not physics. I may not continue med school in Norway since they study in Norwegian and having been here only a year, I've seen the language effects on my grades so far especially orally. I'm requesting for any med expert to help me choose. I can only choose two among physics, biology and chemistry, no exceptions. I've been thinking of placing aside the passion of biology just in case I don't have a choice but to stay in Norway for university.

In addition to my professional goal of becoming a nurse, I hope to give back through volunteer work as my finances allow. I plan to volunteer either on the Navajo Nation, where some of my extended family lives, or with Mercy Ships. hashtag #Fall25

Healthcare Career Question

I am currently a senior in high school and am debating if I should go into pre-med or work towards a PA degree. How do people decide what healthcare profession best fits them? I have heard of shadowing different doctors, but what if you feel like anything would be a good fit?

Hi, so I have decided on going towards being a child doctor but I kind of don't know where to start?

I enjoy spending time with children and I have even wrote a few short stories which were inspired by my own little cousins. I never really have my own siblings and as only child I enjoy being with kids and I have thought of taking this doctor path but I am not sure where to start.

Are there any tips for asking doctors for a mentorship opportunity through email?

I'm a high school student and I have been emailing several doctors (psychiatrists) if they will let me be a mentee under them over the summer. Any tips for structure, style, and requirements that will help me in this process? I'm new to this and not sure how to approach this situation. My friends have been doing it too so I know it's not impossible, but I would like some advice and support, thank you very much!

I have to take fine arts at my school, but which should I choose if I want to be a doctor? Does it matter at all?

My school has a fine arts requirement to graduate. I would like to become a doctor and am not very interested in art. What genre of classes are best for my situation? My school offers choir, band, orchestra, theatre arts, visual arts, dance, technical theatre, and art history at various levels and subgenres. Does it even matter that much and should I choose any of them? This is high school, by the way!
