Looking to develop a resume that is effective and stands out, but I'm a high school student without much experience or skills. Are there any things you can include that someone reviewing your resume would find useful to know? Does the fact that I volunteer as a teacher assistant or that I'm oldest to 5 children make any difference? Would really appreciate guidance! #resume #resume-writing #resumes #evaluating-resumes #experience #interviewing-skills #interview #interviews #interviewing #interview-preparation #writing

Can cultural matching be a form of racism?

In a Anthropology type class I took at my school, I learned that sometimes employers will find interest in a candidate if they share something with that employer-cultural matching. Since I go to a community college, I've always felt it doesn't look good on my resume because the stigmas behind community colleges. What ways are there to improve the chance of receiving a scholarship to pay for school?

One of my tops schools has a high priced tuition. The most likely way I would be able to go to that school is if I earn one of their scholarships such as their Presidential Scholarship. It requires an essay and then a half an hour interview in January so I was wondering if there was any way I could prepare for the interview. I am prepared to work hard for this and I'm looking for ideas to improve my chance of earning this. #scholarships #interviews #college #college-advice #college-admissions #college-bound #college-prep #college-interviews

How do you effectively choose between jobs if your're granted the opportunity to be hired at both?

This is still hypothetical for me personally because I have an interview for both companies on the same day next week. However, I am anxious about every aspect of this. I have already had my preliminary phone interview with both companies and I am a bit more confident with both. The best case scenario is being able to work both, but if that is not the case, how do you weigh out the pros and cons? Both jobs are really different (one is a security job at a hospital and the other is an entry level job at a marketing firm). #marketing #job #interviews #security #career-decisions

How do I prepare for interview for an Intership?

I am a junior in college have been applying to summer internships and recently heard back from one that I am very interested in. They want to schedule an interview. I have never had an internship and while I am not under qualified, I'm sure there will be applicants with more experience. That being said, I am confident that I have what it takes to contribute meaningfully as an intern, but I think a convincing interview would really help. The interview may be over skype or in person, not sure if that changes anything. I also don't have a lot of businessy clothes so I will have to go shopping for those and honestly don't where to start as far as what to wear to an interview for an internship with a senator. Any thoughts? I know generally what sort of questions to expect, but I'd like to hear from people who have experienced it. Any questions I should give more thought to? are there nay standard questions? How different is it from a job interview? (I know it depends on the job but generally speaking) Are there any things that I should not mention? #college #career #internships #career-path #interviews #interviewing-skills #summer-internship #confidence

How do you stay confident?

I know that having confidence is very important when you are interviewing with potential employers and for when you are interacting with your peers. However, I find that sometimes I lose confidence when something negative happens, such as being rejected from a company, or doing poorly on a midterm. I try not to let it get to me, but sometimes it does and I feel very timid. How can I learn to stay confident even when something bad happens? Any help would be great. What do you do, when you don't know what to do with the rest of your life?

How do you know when you are 18 and starting to think about your major what you really want to do with the rest of your life? What if you are unsure?
