What organizational methods, study routines, or lifestyle activities better equip an overwhelmed college student to thrive?

In other words, what are some good tips for proactive studying (i.e. making flash cards, taking notes from the book, making diagrams/analogies), for a healthy lifestyle (i.e. daily exercise or exercise ‘X’ times per week, eating a certain diet), and good organization (i.e. keeping a planner, having a folder for each class, or making lists) that can help a pre-med student remain prepared? #student-development #student-affairs #college-student #premed #organized #preparedness Thanks.

Is the rigor of a student’s undergraduate university considered when applying to medical school?

For instance, if a student graduated from an Ivy League with a lower GPA than a student from a significantly easier state school, would the name of the school be factored in? Thanks! #premed #medicine #medicalschool

Is it harder for D.O.'s to get the same respect as M.D.'s?

I've recently become interested in #osteopathic #medicine. The philosophy of treating patients as a whole instead of just symptoms appeals to me. However, I've heard that it may be hard for D.O.'s to find residencies that are not biased. I hadn't even heard of D.O.'s until a year ago, neither have many people that I know. Will this effect how I will be seen as a #doctor? #premed #premedical #premedicine #physician #medical-practice #medschool #medical-school #holistic

Do you have to go to a prestigious university to get into a "good" medical school?

I plan to study to become a #physician after I graduate from high school. I want to attend a "good" #medical-school, but I don't know if I'll be able to get into one if I attend a #public-school. I know that it is mostly up to me on whether I make it or not. But I have to believe that people who are undergraduates at #ivy-league schools are more likely to get into top medical schools. However, I don't want to be piled high with #student-debt before I even get to medical school, which will probably be even more #expensive . #premedical #medicine #premed

How am I going to pay off my college debt?

My parents are separated, and my mother is barely able to keep my family afloat. Many nights I've had to go to bed hungry because my mother simply couldn't afford to buy food. I work a part-time job, but because my mother asks for money constantly, I lose my paychecks quickly. Nobody is going to help me. I want to become an Emergency Room Doctor; I want to help those who need it most. What is the best major for Medical School?

I hear a lot of people choose majors other than pre-med/biology based majors even though they plan to take the MCAT and go to medical school. I am currently thinking about being a biochemistry major or entering the engineering department and am wondering whether that will have a significant impact on my MCAT score and getting into medical school. #premed #engineering #medical-practice #medicine

I am currently a Junior in Highschool and I am close to being a senior. I have been thinking about the career I want to pursue after highschool and I want to become a pediatrician. What degree should I look for and how many years will I be in school?

I always wanted to become a doctor when I was younger. I had the passion to help people. When I was little I used to pick up medical equipment and play like I was a doctor. In middle school and high school I went to the library often to research books about the medical field and children. I babysat kids for such a long time and I actually enjoy it. I am also asking this question because I want to become a pediatrician. I am in highschool and a junior who is about to enter the real world soon. Also because I want to pick a right major that will help me. I want to know what can I do to reach my goal. Also I asked for future pediatricians like me who are unsure about the degrees . #doctor #pediatrician #majors #college #premed
