What can you do with a degree in political science?

I'm thinking about this major but I'm not sure it's practical. Many politicians are lawyers, so that seems like that's the degree to get if you want to be in politics. And for academic study it seems like having a degree public policy is better (or law). #law #political-science #politics #public-policy #polic

why do many highschools, and now some colleges, stress standardized testing?

I come from the deep south and in the school environment i've seen there is more stress put on passing a test than retaining information. I have even received cheat sheets, along with the rest of the class, from teachers for tests. now in college I see that almost nothing was retained and have begun to struggle with grades. how is this preparing us for the next step in life? I feel its moved me backwards. #psychology #education #art #educator #sociology #politics #philosophy #philanthropy

With Communication Mediums Changing So Rapidly, Do You Believe College Will Be Needed In A Centruy From Now?

I am a communication studies major and I am aware on how fast websites like social media and blogs come and go in this time of age. They all have some affect on our lifestyles. Now that college is becoming so expensive and they are not giving out as much financial aid as they used to. Are professors going to start making there own online videos and itinerary to teach students for their own money? Meaning instead of working for a large college institutions they will skip the middle man and have students pay them through finical mediums to take classes online? Someone once told me that soon B.A.'s are just going to be the next A.S degree and companies are now aiming for people with Master Degrees. But if you think about it college is so much money that it is almost impossible to attend if you don't already come from money. People are not able to live their lives as they want because they are paying off all these school loans that they gathered up 10-15-20 years ago. Will we need college? Or will we just need the education soon? #communications #communication #politics #ukraine
