How do you use a Homeland Security degree in searching for a career?

I am actually still in school for about three more weeks and I am finishing my thesis on Cybercrime. My experience is in Sociology and the Legal field. I am self-motivated and a hard-worker who learns pretty fast. I am anxious to get a career, but I am 41 years old and have been out of work for a few years. I have a tracheotomy, but it does not hold me back from a normal life. I love to be outside and to help people and just need to get my foot in the door to a company that will utilize my Master's degree and the skills I gained in litigation. I am really excited about my future. I would love to get a PhD. by studying either sex trafficking or women and terrorism. #government #federal-government #women #social-networking #homeland-security #human-rights #cyber-crime #counter-terrorism

What are some of the most desirable traits which should be present in a person who is seeking a job in the federal government, specifically within the realms of Public Policy or International Politics?

One of my main goals is to become involved in the political mechanism of the U.S., perhaps out of a naive desire to be influential and to communicate radical ideologies to lawmakers. I would like to know of some of the traits which are prominent in people who are politically successful or are seeking to begin a career within the federal government. #government #politics #federal-government #federal-employment-law #government-contracting

Would it be better to get a job with the federal government or a corporation such as Boeing or Lockheed Martin?

I have heard that getting jobs with the government can be difficult unless you have people on the inside to help you out. So, I'm asking if avoiding the hassle and going to a corporation would be just as good (if not better). #engineering #science #technology #mechanical-engineering #math #aerospace-engineering #aeronautics #federal-government

What are some programs that help students pay off college debt ?

I am asking because a lot of these student loan forgiveness programs are scams. It is very hard to pay off my students loans and make a living for my self and my son. I went to college to earn more money and have a better living. Now it just seems like a big scam because not only am I struggling to pay my bills I can't afford to make payments on my student loans. This kind of defeated my whole purpose for going to college. #financial-aid #student-loans #federal-government

Could someone have a career in a science field that is under the government, and what careers might these be?

I am a senior in high school, and I am interested in both a science related career as well as a government career. I am interested in both local and federal government, so a career under either would be fine. I am also interested in water resources, genetics, marine biology, and environmental science. Instead of choosing one or the other, I thought I could combine them if there was a career that I was interested in. #marine-biology #environmental #federal-government #genetics #local-government
