What colleges are best for getting into the technology field, especially software development?

I'm currently a 10th grader in a dual enrollment program for computer science looking to get into software development. I have very little experience with programming outside of what was needed for class, like very basic use of the windows command prompt and Ubuntu. I would appreciate it if I'm recommended colleges around Maryland, but if there's something much better that's further away that is also fine.

Practical activities?

What IT jobs can I get with an Associate's degree in Information Technology? I enjoy building things and like hands-on jobs that are also well-paid. I learn quite quickly, so any practical job I can get with my Associate's degree in Information Technology would be a good career option for me.

VLSI? or AI what in AI?

In a world increasingly powered by microchips, Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) is the bedrock of modern electronics. From smartphones and laptops to electric vehicles and AI-driven data centers, VLSI design enables the technology we rely on daily. Many countries in ASIA, like India, offer specialized training that costs a lot. Is the investment worth it? What is the ROI (Return on Investment) of VLSI training in today’s competitive market?  Having done a bachelor's in information technology (IT) and specialized skill training in the US but I lack enough experience in IT, and this project-based teaching appeals to me. Despite all this training, I am jobless. I lean toward these on-the-job cohorts from LinkedIn, which costs a lot, and wonder if it's worth it? All offer placement guarantees, mock interviews, and show income projections too good to be true. The same goes for data analytics or cybersecurity. I am having difficulty understanding what to do and how best to approach it. Should I be more focused on AI or be specialized in other than AI things.  any guidance is sincerely appreciated

As someone interested in technology, what are the most impactful skills or experiences I should prioritize in college to prepare for a career that makes a difference in my community How can I balance building these skills with maintaining my personal well-being?

Hi, I’m a first-generation college student from a small town, studying computer science at a community college. Growing up, I saw how limited access to technology impacted my community, especially for small businesses and students. I’m passionate about using tech to create solutions that uplift underserved areas, but I’m unsure how to get started while juggling school and part-time work. I want to make a meaningful impact but also need guidance on managing stress and building a career path that aligns with my values.

What would look good for when you are applying to college for computer science

Hello, I just started my junior year in high school and i am eager to pursue computer science as a career, i have already familiarized myself with HTML and CSS but i was wondering what would actually look good on my resume? such as the classes i could take or the clubs i should join. Something along those lines my math skills are not very good nor are they bad, i am currently taking algebra 2 as junior. Is there anything i can do to prepare myself? but most importanlty anything that will make my college application look better when i apply somewhere? especially along the lines of computer science. #computers
