What should my dream career be?
Hello there! I'm a student and i'm a little all over the place when it comes to my dream career. I know what I'm good at- I just don't what job I could use most of my skills in. When watching TV shows, I end up wanting to be the job in that TV show. But- not all of them made me feel that way. So, I'm just gonna name the skills or jobs I may be good at- then somebody could reply with a good job that uses most of those skills. CEO (I guess I'm really good at being a boss or being in charge.) Writing, Investigating, Theatre, Talking (I'm good with the words because of my writing skills.) I'm better in a team, or with people I'm friends with. I don't want to be a police officer though- but FBI is a yes. Are there any career options where I can be a writer or designer and also work in the field of crime and mystery?
I am a freshman in college currently undecided on my career path. I have a wide number of interests so I’m in the process of exploring. My main interests are in interior design and writing. However, I do also loveee mysteries/crime solving. For right now, I just want want to learn how or if it’s possible to combine two of my interests(writing and mystery/crime or design and mystery/crime) together as a career. For instance, I’ve heard about investigative journalism but I am oblivious to anything else writing or design related in the field of criminal work.

I am currently a junior in high school and have always been interested in some kind of job with the government or military. I grew up under the influence of my grandfather who was enlisted in the navy during the Vietnam war and and have since aspired to enlist or obtain a job related to the defense of the united states. I want to be in a cyber-security team for the US government serving in one of the intelligence branches (CIA, DoD, DIA, FBI, NSA, etc.) and I want to know which one would be best for me. What does the BAU actually do?
Okay- I admit I've been watching a little too much criminal Minds- but I was wondering what they actually do. I find interesting- "profiles." I think that it's a great tool to really get into a criminal's minds- no pun intended. I've watched my fair share of law enforcement tv shows- and they all have inspired me. But- I don't know exactly what would fit me best- Anyways, The BAU is very interesting, helpful and cool. I really want to know what they really do? IS the show accurate? I want to work in the BAU but I need some guidance
So, I've tried to look up tons of stuff about the different unit, descriptions of stuff they do, etc. I can't seem to find the answers to a lot of my questions though. Fair warning, there are a lot. So to start, which unit deals with the most cases? Which unit deals with the serial killers, unusual crimes, serial kidnappings? Do BAU agents deal/help with the apprehension of criminals? How often, on average, do the agents travel? Does having a major in psychology and a minor in criminal justice along with time in the air force give me a step up into getting into the BAU? Was all the schooling worth it?
My plan is to get some kind of degree in Psychology. I may even go as far as a PhD I'm still not sure. I want to join the FBI and study criminal behavior. Analyze behavior and predict violent criminal's next moves to catch them.
