What is it like to be a doctor? Are the many years of education and studying worth it?

I am currently a rising high school senior, and I am interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. I am rather iffy on whether or not I should pursue it, considering the high cost of medical school and many rate of schooling. However, medical health and helping people is truly my passion. Any insight? #doctor #medicine #health #pediatrics #medical-school #doctorate-degree

How do I decide on whether to pursue a master's degree or a doctorate?

How do I decide on whether to pursue a master's degree or a doctorate? I am a geology major with a climate science minor and it seems like I don't need to pursue a master's degree before a doctorate. Is this frowned upon, or a good option?

When trying to diagnose a patient, what are the step taken to actually diagnose and give the right diagnosis of the patient?

I always feel like it's difficult for a physician to diagnose a patient, because, for me, I feel that there are many steps that must be taken to properly diagnose a patient and to give or recommend them for the proper treatment #doctor #medicine #nurse #pre-med #registered-nurses #doctorate-degree

What is the best major to choose for students seeking to go to medical school?

Ever since I was a little girl, the only thing I wanted to be was a doctor. Benjamin Carson has been a role model of mine that has inspired me to dream big, work hard, and never give up. I hope to someday attend Johns Hopkins Medical School like he did. However, I want to ensure that I'm choosing the best possible degree plan for myself, in order to be fully prepared for all of the curve balls medical school will throw at me. I'm currently torn between majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Science truly is my passion and I absolutely love studying the human body. I'm so excited to pursue my educational goals and want to do my absolute best in all I do. Choosing the perfect degree is extremely important to me and I would appreciate any and all advice on the matter!:) #doctor #medicine #science #medical-school #doctorate-degree #bachelors-degree #johns-hopkins-university

What are the average requirements for a thesis or dissertation?

I am an avid writer, and I don't think a thesis or dissertation will be too difficult for me. However, this is a high school student speaking, so I can't really be sure. I'd like to know ( on average) what the requirements are in the forensic pathology field, so I can get used to writing with them. What if I want to have a job that supports and pays well, but that I genuinely like and have time to do things in my free time?

I have heard many stories of people having their dream jobs that pay, "big bucks," but then having these jobs take away a lot of time from their outside lives and take away time from things that are truly important to them, for example, family. I have also heard of people having jobs that pay extremely well, but it is not what they are interested in, or not their, "top choice," in what they would choose for their career. This is where I am conflicted for when I start to make these decisions. I want to know what different careers there are and how well they will support me, but also how much time they could potentially take away, or the values that are most important to me, such as family. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that I will not work hard or not put my all in because I do not want to waste my time on a beneficial career, but these kind of decisions, I think, would be easier to make if we knew all of the certain criteria that is associated with each choice. #conflicted #travel #doctorate-degree #neonatology #business #hospital-and-health-care #performing-arts #art #marine-biology #biology
