My school district has shut down for an extra week in my area due to COVID-2019 which isn't a big deal. As a senior tho it is hard to think that they might cancel school. I've been hearing rumors and even seeing in some news articles the state of Texas might postpone school for the rest of the year 2019-2020. I'm worried about how that'll affect me not gonna lie. Whether colleges think I failed to what job I apply for in the future... Any tips or advice? Thanks in advanced!

Should I take classes that I enjoy or ones that will help me in the future?

At my school, we can take special classes out of the school, like nursing prep, horticulture, culinary, etc. that I'm interested in. I'm torn between multiple though, Culinary, Horticulture, Agriculture, and Educational Careers. Would it be smarter to take the class that will be more beneficial to me in the future, or should I take one that I enjoy that will make my high school more enjoyable? As of now, I think I want to be a teacher and horse trainer/riding instructor, so educational careers or agriculture would probably be the most beneficial, but I also love plants and cooking, so those would probably make my days better and more enjoyable. This also goes for classes in the school. For example, math. I don't think I'd be a math teacher if I do become a teacher, but I'm pretty good at math and am in the fast-pace math. I'll probably stay in it, but I doubt I'd need much of the more high-level math in my future, so should I take it easy and take the slower one or challenge myself and take the fast-pace one?

How can I change my school system for the better?

As I was Sitting in my biotech class listening to my teacher talking about central dogma, She said something interesting; she said "you should remember this from biology freshman year. Everyone in the class said the same thing,"no I don't remember this." I wondered, why don't any of us remember anything we learned from previous years? As I pondered how my classes are structured and what we do on a day to day basis, I concluded that our schooling system values memorization over mastery. We are told to know a general set of knowledge; then we are tested on it a few weeks later. This type of learning gives students no room to fully master or develop a passion for what they are learning so they forget it in a quick amount of time. #school #learning #education #entrepreneur #classes

How to deal with being overwhelmed and procrastination in University ?

Hi, I'm a university student, currently taking foundation courses. All my coursework are assignments and essays based. I find that when I think of an assignment that I have to do, I think that the assignment is too difficult and that it will take hours for me to complete it. When I finally get the courage to sit down and do it (usually assisted with a friend or because the deadline is literally in an hour or in minutes), I realize it's not that bad, sometimes I even enjoy it. I just want to learn how to get over that hurdle of being overwhelmed and to cease the thoughts that make the coursework bigger than it actually is.
