I am interested in doing biochemistry and animal sciences, considering double majoring. My long term goal is to go to vet school. I already work at a vet clinic, have lots of leadership and volunteer experience, get good grades, have shadowed veterinarians, and take many science/health classes. I have also been very involved inside and outside of school in a variety of activities. Lately I’ve tried to find more opportunities related to animals. I feel like I’m in a good place for applying to colleges but is there anything I should be doing to stand out? I want to apply for competitive programs such as Purdue’s Veterinary Scholars Program.
Hi, I’m just starting college in the Fall and I was wondering if there’s anything I should know before starting my part-time job as a veterinary assistant and my major in veterinary technology? Like any advice, tips, etc?
I’m starting college in Fall 2023. I won this private scholarship for this veterinary technology program and i get to work at this animal hospital as a vet assistant. I don’t start the Veterinary Technology program at my school just yet as there are prerequisite courses I have to take first in order to apply and get into this program. I’ve always loved animals whether their wild or domestic and I can’t see myself having a career that doesn’t involve helping or taking care of animals.

Since i’ve been little i always wanted to be a vet but now that i still want to, i realized i don’t know where to start. Just in case i have always been good in biology and would use it as a second option. So what does it take and how do i start?
