I am going to college for mechanical engineering, and it is my dream to have a strong career with cars in any way possible.

How should I take notes during lectures for my freshmen year for chemical engineering classes or any general education classes? Is it worth it to get an app to listen to the lectures and to help take notes?

I want to go into patent law because I think it is an appropriate combination of my skills in engineering and in law. I want to understand what characteristics I need to have beyond these skills in order to excel.
