What are some good questions to ask about a field we might be interested in?

What is the best first step to take when you don’t have any clue on what to do for your future?

I try to give useful future advice to those underclassmen I might interact with, but it seems like they don't understand that school is now but their future is forever.

I'm a high school senior, looking to major in veterinary technology next year. I currently volunteer at animal sanctuaries but wondering what else should I do to gain experience.

I am majoring in exercise science at Pitt

I live three hours away from the college I am going to attend in the Fall. I do not have a car so I cannot just drive back home if I am feeling depressed or have one of my panic attacks. I need help finding ways to cope with my mental health especially because I am going to be far away from home.
