What should I do if I want to be an Art Director?
Currently, I am a sophomore in high school, and I'm not sure what to major in or how to go on in my high school career! To preface what i have so far...I have two years of TV production experience, and was the head of my schools prom commitee for traditional art. This upcoming year, I'll be historian for this organization that is involved with the city and for my class (ASB). Also, I'll be in my school's yearbook class for ADS and PR. This summer, I'll be taking a graphic design class at Otis college! Also, I'm not so sure what industry I want to work in yet, so I'm still trying to figure that out.
How can I get a research opportunity or internship with a professor or company as a high school student?
Hi, I am an high school junior interested in conducting a research or interning in the engineering field this summer, but I’m not sure where to start or how to go about it. I contacted a lot of engineering firms around me and most of them either don’t do internships or don’t have any openings. I don’t have any research questions I specifically want to study, so I was thinking about emailing professors at nearby universities/colleges about joining their research but I’m afraid it might only be limited to students of that university with some sort of experience. I’m also worried that it might be too late since the university’s spring semester around me (their current semester) has just ended. Should I still try and email professors about to join their research, and if so, how? Or should I keep contacting more firms around me? What do you think I should do?
How can I publish a research paper as a high schooler?
Hi! I'm a sophomore who really loves biotech and Bio. I'm doing a summer program this summer that allows me to write a paper about genome errors and a particular disease. I'd like to work on it over junior year and get it published. Are there any programs where I could get advice on how to edit and improve my paper so that I could eventually publish it? Thank you!
High School Summer programs in NJ?
Hi! I applied to a few but not many popular summer programs for high schoolers and didn't match with most of them. Now I'm freaking out over not having much to do over the summer especially since its before my junior year. Ive been looking for summer programs or internships for juniors in high schools for so many hours lately but all the deadlines have passed! Im really upset and stressed over this situation and if knows of any programs with deadlines still open such as research ones at Rutgers or at other neighboring areas such as Newark or internships please let me know. I've applied to 19 (remote) internships and part-times, have gotten close to getting 84% of them and still being rejected. I don't feel bad, I know there are a lot of good, qualified applicants out there. I just want to get an idea of what else I could do now that I don't have any classes.
