What are cons of being a marine biologist?

How can I pursue a career in racing, specifically in Formula 1? Or, how do I get a job with a German auto manufacturer, such as BMW, Porsche, or Mercedes? I'd like to live abroad in Germany working for them. For background, I am a current mechanical engineering major, minoring in German.

I have been thinking I'll just pick the cheaper option, but I'm not sure.
