Many people try to get job in computer science field, which creates a big competitive, but I really want to work in this field.

I have enough free time to be working on any skills related to mechanical engineering. Should I leave behind any extra-curricular that are unimportant to this?

I'm first looking for a major in Chemistry, but am thinking of specifying into Chemical Engineering. How am I meant to get there?
