I don’t know what to choose between these majors?

Hi everyone. Currently, I am stuck between choosing a major in Advertisement, Entertainment & Tourism, and Public Relations. And I think it’s better to see other people’s opinions on those three majors (maybe pros and cons or anything you can share with me). I’m much thankful if I could hear from everyone here. Thank you so much. FYI, my name is Hung, 22 years old and live in Southern California.

How do I become a Fire Department Public Information Officer? What areas have PIOs? What are their specific duties?

I currently serve as a volunteer firefighter in Moosic, Pennsylvania. While I really enjoy the firefighting aspect of the department, I enjoy the public relations activities so much more. Ive done a lot of research into PIOs, and information is hard to come by. I have, however, looked into South Metro Fire Rescue and gotten a lot of information regarding their Public Information Officers. Just a dream job that I am interested in getting more information about! #pio #fire #fire-department #fire-department-pio #public-relations #fire-public-relations #public-relations-officer

Is a sociology degree helpful for public relations?

Hi, My name is Alyssa. I am a 25-year-old student who is almost ready to transfer to a #communication university to finish my bachelor's. I currently will hold 2 AAs in communication studies and sociology. My goal is to work with the public ultimately. I want to help with charitable campaigns, environmental work, and law. My counselors suggested PR, which is intriguing, but I wonder how applicable it is. I also personally am working on my own to start side projects spreading awareness and action for saving bees and plastic cleanups. I know they are small but it is my passion. Would a career in PR be anything similar to these endeavors? #law #sociology #public-relations #environment#campaign

Is a bachelors in Economics better then a PR or Marketing degree?

To make a very long story short, I received a regional scholarship however the school that I plan on attending does not have my major I want to study which would be Public Relations and Marketing. A family friend told me it was better to get a degree in Economics, which would help me with figuring out how money moves, and also getting a degree in psychology, seeing how to reach clients and such. I want to go into public relations or marketing, but since neither are available what's the best way to go? #marketing #business #college #public-relations #Economics #finance

How common is it for public relations specialists to move from different organizations during their career?

A public relations specialist visited one of my classes to provide students a glimpse into his career life. One of the details I took notice was how much he moved from organization to organization after a few years. All my life, I was raised to believe in the notion of working at one company or organization for the entirety of my life. Hearing this from a professional was unusual. Comment your own experiences and thoughts on this commonality in the career. #SJSU #public-relations #career-advice
