What types of education and skills do I need to become a police officer?

What are the dangers of becoming a police officer, what are the chances of getting injured or possibly shot.

I'm an overachieving high school senior. I've contacted representatives and senators using the official template multiple times, but received no reply. I understand they are busy people and that they receive thousands of these letters, but I'd really like to get accepted. Advice?

Which course would I be able to do with history and tourism

History is very interesting, but I can only think of becoming a teacher with a degree in it.
