Applying to Med School as a Low Income Student?

I know that the general advice for premed students is to keep undergraduate debt low, since the cost of applying can be thousands to begin with. I don't have concerns about having undergrad debt because of my school's generous financial aid (I get school grants, Pell Grants, work study, etc.). My main question is whether medical schools give any need-based financial aid. I've heard from an advisor that NYU, Columbia, and Johns Hopkins has strong financial aid for most or all med students now. I also know about Penn's full-tuition scholarships. Is there other information that'd be helpful for me to know? Thank you so much in advance! #medschool #medical-school #physician #doctor #medstudent #premed

When do I begin studying for the MCAT?

I just finished my first year as an undergraduate student. I'm majoring in biochemistry and minoring in psychology. I know these two fields are very helpful for the MCAT. (I am very interested in those fields as well, so it was not the only reason I chose them.) When did you begin studying for the MCAT, and would it be too soon if I began prepping now? I got an MCAT practice app recently and do a few questions a day. #JULY20 #premed #college #physician #mcat #study #medical #biochemistry #psychology

Should I double major in music and microbiology?

I'm a rising senior and I am thinking about becoming a physician assistant. I have been playing french horn since 6th grade and also have a big interest in medicine. The problem is that I am not sure if I should double major in music and mcb or just microbiology. I want to have enough time during my undergrad years to join clubs, shadow other PAs, potentially conduct research, perform with an ensemble, and have a lively social life. Will this be possible if I double major or should I just stick to one? I feel that as a double major, I will stand out from other applicants applying to PA school. #college-major #music #medicine #physician #healthcare #doublemajor #physicianassistant #july20

Where can I apply for my career and still be licensed correctly to perform it?

I am a senior trying to find details about my major of choice: Naturopathic Physician. Although, I have came to notice that the only way you can become a licensed and valid physician of this pathway is to approach a CNME accredited program but from where I live they are far out of state and will most likely be high in tuition. I would like to know is there any other option within state I can choose and still be able to be a licensed Naturopathic Physician? #physician #medical-education #doctor
