Is electrical engineering right for me?

Hello! I'm a high school senior applying for college, and I know I want to do engineering but I'm still a bit unsure about what type to apply for. I was considering Electrical Engineering because the classes sound interesting and I've read up on a couple topics independently because of that, but I'm afraid I don't really know what they're like -- I've taken AP Physics 2 but not AP Physics C, and I really don't know much about hardware in electronics. I'm also not the time to take things apart and put them together, but I'm still interested in math/science as well as problem solving. I just want to know if choosing EE as a major could work out, or if there is a better option for someone like me. Thank you! #ee #electrical-engineering #high-school #college #engineering #tech #technology #major #electrical #college-majors

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM A VIDEO INTERVIEW?

For all professionals & students who are reading my post, I thank you for your time and I appreciate any suggestions you share! Please take care of yourself. CONTEXT: Because of COVID, most companies are conducting interviews via video. I found that it's more challenging to leave a good impression ( sometimes the internet connection may not be stable, or due to lack of in-person eye contact & interaction..) What's your suggestions? If you are a recruiter / interviewer, what type of candidates stand out from the interviews and how I can become those candidates that you want to hire immediately? Again, I appreciate your time in advance and all the best to you and your family. It's a challenging time to navigate in a world of uncertainties, so please take time for yourself and stay healthy! #jobs #technology #HR #recruiter #interview #careercoach #career #interviewprep

Industrial engineering or Electrical engineering?

Dear my friends, thank you for giving me your time. I really need help in the place I am right now. I really love being a CEO and having the control of a company or a factory, I love to build my own startups and company and I know that, that's what I really like and all the university courses are tools for me to achieve this position. If I want to tell you about myself, I'm an 18 year old student from Iran. Im between the top 250 students in whole Iran and with my opportunity I can apply to top universities in Iran. I have worked on coding and Artificial intelligence and I also have participated in RoboCup competitions. So it means that Im good at computer. But also I was raised in a family witch my father had founded a factory. also my uncles which Im able to continue their paths. Well Im not really thinking about working there, but Im confused if I should choose Electrical engineering or Industrial engineering. I know that Electrical engineering is much harder but it doesn't matter to me. But I want to know which course will make me find new ideas for startups. well I know that if I choose Industrial Engineering I have to study subjects which can help me for controlling a company, but electrical engineering doesn't have that subjects. So which one do you think its better for me as a brighter future? Sincerely, Borna B. #electrical #technology #ai #industrialengineering #business #ie #engineering

How to engage more audiences on Linkedin?

To all professionals reading this post, thank you for your precious time! I hope all is well on your end! :) Context: I like to use Linkedin to look for jobs and connect with like-minded people. However, my posts don't usually generate a lot of views. I don't know how LinkedIn algorithm works behind the scene, but I believe there must be some tricks people use to generate traffic (hashtags or tagging influencers) Questions: 1. What are some other useful tips to engage more audiences (or even recruiters) on Linkedin? 2. How to become a content creator ? (some people post about their job searching experience and received over 1k likes & dozens of comments?! jaw-dropping) #linkedin #career #HR #recruiters #technology #algorithm #writer #influencer #contentCreator #strategy #consulting #careeradvice #professionals

Is UX design a oversatuarated industry to choose?

Hi! I am a new master graduate in chemical engineering, living in Canada. I'm also a international student. However, I almost have no interest in this field and due to covid-19, most of the oil companies are laying off people rather hiring. This makes me to change my career. I'm interested in design all the time and I want to be a UX designer. However, when I was doing my research, I saw one comments in a youtube video, which says, "UX Design is a highly sought-after career that literally anyone without a degree can get into. This creates a highly saturated market that makes it literally impossible to get into because there is always someone with "a little bit more experience." UX design is necessary, but it is also a trendy career prospect that brings in any type of applicant. It's a slippery slope. UX boot camps are creating an additionally large influx of UX want-to-bes and are only exacerbating this issue. UX boot camps are there to milk the UX education cash cow and are not concerned with graduates painfully struggling to find first-time jobs in a market that is already oversaturated." Now I'm worried. I don't want to waste one year to learn and then struggled in the same state as I'm today---NO JOB IN MARKET. Can you get me some your advice? Or where should I get the most realsitic facts about the market? As a beginner, I don't know what kind of opinion should I believe since I know nothing about it. Thank you so much for your answer. Your opinons are important to me. #UXdesign #design #technology #career

My question is how do I find tech companies who are hiring non-residents?

My major is computer science and I’m an international student. After graduation we can apply to work for a year as a part of practical training. But I’m worried about my career after that because my one work permit will expire and can’t be renewed since I’m a non-resident of US. I have to find a company who can sponsor H1 visa so that I could continue my work. There are millions of international students, permanent residents/citizens of US, people with greater work experiences applying at the same time as me. My question is how do I find tech companies who are hiring non-residents? How do I stand out among those huge mass people? #technology #computer-science #international-student #JULY20

What's the one thing you would do differently if you could travel back in time to where you started your career / coding journey?

As a self-taught web developer, at some point during my coding journey, I got distracted and switched to a different language just out of curiosity. (switch from JavaScript to Python). Three months later, I realized that Python or Data science isn't really my thing. (I definitely see the beauty and power of Python!) However, I love JavaScript or Front-end web development more than extracting insights from data set. So for me, I would definitely tell myself to FOCUS on one language if I could travel back in time. 1. What about you? 2. What kind of advice would you give yourself if life can rewind and replay? I'm asking this question because it allows me learn valuable lessons / insights from others' story! (If you don't mind sharing!) As always, Thank you for your time in reading this post and sharing your story! I wish you all the best & take care of yourself! #career #business #coding #professional #timeTravel #Focus #programming #webdevelopment #python #javascript #careerguidance #education #Learning #careeradvice #careerchoices #technology
