How can I make sure that the field I am majoring in in college is something I can stay committed to? How can I be sure I won't lose my passion??

I will be majoring in dance this fall. I love performing and especially love this incredibly expressive and disciplinary art. How can I be sure this is a decision I will not regret?

Does having medical work experience help with admissions into medical school If so are there ones more preferable than others like doing phlebotomy or emt??

I want to do something that will be productive over the summer as a pre-med student but I am kind of lost since I wasn't able to secure research during the school year so I want to at least try working in the medical field as an intern, volunteer, or get certified.

Does it look better to do an internship or to get a job on a resume?

I'm currently a senior in high school and will be attending college in the fall. I hope to become a doctor, and thus must be thinking ahead to medical school. I'm debating between getting a job and getting an internship this summer (and was also thinking about my time throughout college). I was wondering if it looks better on a resume to get a job, as this shows responsibility and will help me earn money to pay my tuition, or to get an internship, as this helps me gain experience and work with professionals. #college #doctor #jobs #internships #resume #medical-school #undergraduate #college-jobs

How do I know that the major I am in is the best for me?

I am currently a theatre major, but I have my associates in Criminal Justice. Everyone says that the arts are not the best programs to go into since they do not "contribute anything to you in the long run." How do I know that getting this degree will not burn me in the end? #collegemajor #theatre #lifechoices #undergraduate

What degree would suit my needs best between business and something in the arts?

I'm a multiple business owner at just 20 years old but still in the early stages with both of them. One is a photography business and the other is a online media website and I write the bulk of the content on the site. I have intensions of opening a skincare business in the near future as well as a partnering fashion label. My education background is consistent with the arts and business. i have certificates from top Uni's such as Harvard and UC Davis in Business fields as well as a pre degree diploma in art from UAL in London. But I'm yet to get an undergrad degree because A) Affordability, B) Undecided on what degree suits me best, C) unsure which degree will actually add more value to my career paths and D) When I was younger, I didn't do so great in school and I have pretty average grades despite all the further education I now have. I've been offered a place at LSE in London on a business management course and I know I should be excited about that but I'm not because my gut is telling me that it's not right for me. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks #business #art #undergraduate #degree

I'm a Nigerian who wants to apply to a Canadian University to obtain an undergraduate degree and one of the requirements is my high school transcript but I have no idea what should be included in the transcript. Does anyone have an idea what my school should include in the transcript and how it should look like because the educational system in my school is very different from the ones in Canada. Also, should the academic records be from 10th grade or 7th grade?

High school graduate.

Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) programs in California?

Hello! I am an undergraduate Psychology student in my last year of undergrad. I will be applying to in-state graduate schools this fall, but I worry about how competitive MFT programs are. As a first generation student, I’m worried that my experiences are not good enough. The only relevant experience I have is interning abroad with a social worker conducting therapy in a vulnerable population, being a peer resource mentor for psychology students on campus, and peer mentor for students with diverse cultural backgrounds (with emphasis on mental health and well-being). I have a 3.7 GPA and want to apply to CSU MFT programs. I don’t have a lot of time to devote to other extra curricular at the moment as I am currently holding two jobs as a peer mentor. What was your experience like applying to MFT programs? What were your stats? Did you take a gap year (if so, what was it like)? What programs would you recommend? How was your MFT program? Where are you now? I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions! I want to a bit more prepared, so thank you for helping me out :) #MFT #marriagefamilytherapy #marriagefamilytherapist #LMFT #psycchology #psychologygrad #psychgrad #psychgraduate #psychgraduates #psychologygraduate #psychologygraduates #psychstudent #psychologystudent #psychstudents #psychcologystudents #gradschool #graduateschool #applyingtogradschool #counseling #therapy #familytherapy #csu #csun #sfsu #csus #csulb #csuf #csudh #usf #pepperdine #therapist #therapists

can you take pre-law if you intend on doing a double major/dual degree program?

I'm a high school senior and am currently applying to colleges/universities and want to study law and music performance. I know a lot, if not most schools, have pre-law programs. If I apply to a dual-degree or double major program, can I do the pre-law program and music performance? or would I have to choose a major (e.g. political science, psychology) alongside the music performance. Hope this makes sense! Thank you so much

I am an undergraduate student in my second year I didn't do so well last semester and my gpa dropped to a 2.1, can you give me some advice as to how to prepare for grad school? Is it too late for me?

How do I prepare myself for a PhD at MIT, or other Ivy league or top schools in the world's? Should I also get my masters before my PhD program and will that shorten or extend how long my doctorate program will be? I am also planning to get a master before the PhD though since it isn't that close I still wanted to hear an opinion from an expert. I am currently a computer science student at Florida polytechnic university if that helps as well. FYI: I plan to do better this upcoming semester and hopefully raise my GPA close to a 3.0 by the end of either the fall or spring. And I plan to start getting some research opportunities with professors.

Can I take both a pre-med and pre-vet track?

I was leaning towards pre-med in the beginning, but now I'm interested in being a veterinarian. I saw someone on social media doing both, but I didn't know that was possible. Edit: I know I want to be a neuroscience major.

How often should I reach out to my Academic Advisor ?

I think it is a great idea for me to establish great communication with my Academic Advisor so I can keep on taking the necessary course for my degree. Not only that but I have been given great personal and professional advice and resources. I don't want to overstep my boundaries by asking a ton of questions all the time, but I would like to utilize as many resources, advice, and opportunities as my advisor can provide me.

Is Computer Science a harder major than pre-med?

I heard that compared to pre-med, computer science is a lot easier. I'm still struggling to choose a major and I just wanted to lay out the pros and cons of each major.

As pre-med student, is it more beneficial to attend a cheap, less prestigious university or a more expensive university with a better pre-med program?

At one institution, I received a full-tuition scholarship, and it's close enough that I can live at home. However, it has limited pre-med opportunities outside of the curriculum. At the other institution, I received zero financial aid but was accepted to a prestigious honors pre-med program with multiple benefits (guaranteed freshman research positions, smaller classes, capstone program, etc.). I'm majoring in biochemistry in both, with plans to go to medical school to become a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Is it more worthwhile to avoid debt at a smaller school with fewer pre-med opportunities, or invest in a school with abundant opportunities?
