What should I work towards getting an Associates in if I am interested in becoming a clinical psychologist?

I am currently a Sophomore in high school and I am applying to do Dual-Enrollment online during my Junior and Senior year with a community college called Forsyth Tech. In order to apply I have to choose a pathway with certain classes and that is where I'm struggling. I'm given the choice between an Associates in Science, Applied science, or Arts. There isn't fully a pathway I could take to get an Associates in just Psychology.

Animation industry

I stepped away from an art college because it was extremely overwhelming, it was super competitive and the workload left me in tons of panic attacks. I also couldn't afford the tuition. Its been awhile (cause of covid) and now im thinking of going back to community for two years to start my minor first and do my major at a 4 year at animation but im worried that i wont like the field as much as i admire it, i work a bit slower when it comes to art it brings out my best work and i want to learn more but a part of me if afraid. Does the animation industry have more cons than pros, will i enjoy working in a competitive field?

B.A. in Psychology + Associates in Business Management

Hi! Currently, I am obtaining an Associates's degree in Business Management from my community college before transferring into a university for a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. I see that in the United States, people are especially discouraging of Psychology undergraduates in a business field. A lot of people would say to switch for a Bachelors in Business instead and get an Associates's in Psychology, which I do not plan on doing because I love my current placements. I have heard and read from many people that Psychology majors are deemed useful only within clinical and social works. If I were to take the path in those aspects, I am mainly interested in becoming a college academic advisor/counselor. However, I have put it in my best interest and am very determined to find myself a career in the business field after I graduate. I want to ask what is the REALITY of someone with a BA in Psychology and Associates in Business Management to be offered great positions in the business fields. What are some jobs and careers can I be qualified for with these degrees? What is something you would recommend me to do in order to gain experience or expose me to the works of psychology and business as an undergrad? Please give me any additional advice or information you think would be helpful too! I really appreciate and thank you for your responses! :-) #career #business #humanresources #human-resources #marketing #businessmarketing #business-marketing #psychology #businessadministration #business-administration #corporate #businessmanagement #business-management #counselor #academic-counselor #academiccounselor #univeristy #communitycollege #community-college #universityofcalifornia #university-of-california #psychmajor #psychologymajor #psych-major #psychology-major #company #california #unitedstates #uited-states

Should I go to college if I don't know what to do with what I've studied?

I'd like to go to community college and study business and psychology, but I'm not sure what I'd do with what I've learned. I don't like the idea of becoming a therapist of any kind or a business owner. I have no interest in going to a 4 year college unless what I want to do calls for it. Is it time for me to get a part time job?

My name is Briana and I'll be starting my second year at my community college this upcoming fall semester. I'll be taking thirteen units and my parents have been recently pushing me to apply for a job with nods to "we're hiring" signs. I understand with my age I should be working, but I'm not sure if it would be healthy for me, the amount of coursework I'm taking and confusion I continue to have gearing toward a specific major. I know I need to focus on choosing something to plan out the next three years, but I don't think I can with usual coursework and a job to worry about. I understand the extra cash would help and my parents want me to have some type of work experience, but I don't want to burn out from stress coming through each direction especially as a horrible multitasker. Thank you for responding and have a nice day! #first-generation-college-students #community-college #psychology #work-life-balance #women-in-stem #japan

Is college worth the investiment if I am interested in pursuing a creative field?

Hello, currently I am an art student attending community college for an associate's degree in fine art and for a while now I have been contemplating if I am really suited to be in a college environment? Because after reflecting upon my own skills and interests I have recognized that I do not have many useful skills outside of art and I do not feel that college is a necessity if your an artist. I can understand the need for college for people who want to pursue more technical careers such as medical or law but when it concerns more creative fields that relate to art the work that you have produced holds more value to employers than a college degree. While I do believe that college art classes would help improve my skills, at the same time, I also think there are cheaper and more convenient alternatives for improving my craft on account of all the information that is available to artists online and that includes all of the countless internet videos that teach art lessons. So my question is would a degree in art actually help me land a job in the future? Or am I wasting time and money trying to get a useless degree when I would be better off spending my time promoting my own art work and creating content that will increase my value as an artist? I would like to hear your opinions on this subject and thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. #career #artist #fine-art #future-careers #community-college #associates-degree #creative-direction #personal-development #financial-planning #career-details

What do I do if I suspect that one of my parents is unsupportive of me going to college?

As a current high school graduate, I'm looking forward to starting off at my community college this fall. I finished registration and got my financial aid straightened out, and FAFSA looks like It could really help me. During my spare time< I scroll online for any scholarships that could help. One night, I showed my mom what FAFSA could help me with, but she only focused on the EFC and how I mentioned that it outlines a recommended family contribution. Being brutally honest, she told me "Your dad expects the government to help you with everyhing and still wishes that you woud be working instead. Even though as parents, we both should support you, especially in something like this." Keep in mind, I will be the first in my family to go to college. I'm just not sure why he would expect me to work, when he knows I want to do better than whats happening right now. He, himself, once showed me one of his pay stubs with his annual income and told me to try and make double that in the future. Simply put, I would like some advise to help me explain to him that it may be difficult, but not impossible to make the effort. Thank you to anyone who responds. #college #psychology #teaching #financial-aid #community-college #first-generation
